Best Roommate, Better Friend

Ryan DeBolt

Best Man

Accounting the night before, and a walk home spent kicking trees.

Ryan DeBolt
you taught me everything the night before the test
A letter to RyanIndiana

Ryan,

You were the person I considered my truest and best friend after reaching adulthood—the smartest person in the room and someone I could always look up to.

I still remember studying for our accounting test the night before, when I knew absolutely nothing. You taught me everything, and then, while we were talking on the walk back, you started kicking trees. I remember when you got swine flu, our trip to White Castle after watching Harold & Kumar, and all the ridiculous moments in between.

Whether we were sitting around the apartment playing Call of Duty, you were watching me play Assassin's Creed, we were throwing beer pong balls into cups filled with water, or we were watching The Office, every day I spent hanging out with you was a dream, man.

You are, by far, the best college roommate I ever could have asked for, but more importantly, you became one of the greatest friends I have ever had.

P.S. — You were always the smartest person in the room.

Will you be my best man?

Always, — The Groom
